    Puglia Olive Oil

Puglia olive oil: Italy's largest producer, cultivars and regional characteristics.

Puglia produces about 40% of all Italian olive oil, making it the country's largest producing region. Its ancient olive trees are often hundreds of years old.

The main cultivars are Coratina (intense, polyphenol-rich), Ogliarola (medium, fruity) and Cellina di Nardò (delicate). Coratina is especially valued for its health properties.

Puglia DOP regions include Terra di Bari, Collina di Brindisi and Terra d'Otranto. The region's oils offer excellent quality-to-price ratio.
